The Comeback Continues
Published by Textbook 3 years, 4 months ago in Online PokerNo, not really. Considering I got down to $13 on Paradise from a high of $150 or so, this is still all red ink.
At any rate, I bought into the $25 max NLHE ring game again. Ended up finishing over $40 after 50 hands (about an hour). Still doesn’t beat the day job, but it’s way more fun.
It was a weird table tonight. I was able to push everybody around fairly successfully. Unfortunately that made for a lot of small pots.
Aside from the hand I bluffed on the river with nothing (Board: 9♥T♦T♣8♥2♣ My hand: 3♦4♣ Earnings: $1.35) there was only one hand worth recounting. It happened to be the hand that made me most of my profit:
I am dealt 3♣3♥. UTG called the BB. I raise to $1. Next player goes all-in for $3.50. UTG calls. So do I, because I have a feeling the raiser has been getting frustrated. Besides, my pair is made, and anything can happen. ![]()
Flop is 4♠3♦4♥, and I’ve got my boat. UTG checks, I bet $1.50, and he calls.
Fourth Street is Q♠. Check, bet $2, call.
Fifth Street brings 7♦. UTG bets $0.70, so I know he has nothing. Bet $3 and he folds. The side pot is mine.
Turns out the pre-flop raiser had T♦A♠, so I take the main pot as well.
Sad part is I barely doubled the $10 I put in as bets. On most tables, someone would have had a pair of Queens or a set of fours and would have called me all the way through. But then, they may have sucked out in the end on most tables.
Good with the bad…
