Jennifer Tilly loves poker. Even more than acting, it seems.

Folding her hand in Hollywood

Tilly, a 1994 Oscar nominee for Bullets Over Broadway, is so serious about poker that she recently bought a unit in the Cosmopolitan, a high-rise condo on the Las Vegas Strip to be built next to the Bellagio Hotel & Casino.

“I’d rather do this than be in some crappy movie that will end up on cable,” says Tilly, 46. “I’m financially secure, and mostly I want to be with my man and play in the tournaments.”

Her man is none other than Phil “The Unabomber” Laak — he of the hoodie and childish antics. As for the tourney play… Well, she did just win the Ladies NLHE event at the WSOP (with a $157,625 prize).

I continue my series of checking FtN the same day as a new post. Jennifer Tilly is a mad hotty who would surely distract me at a table. I wouldn’t mind going all in…never mind. Too much info.

Phil Laak plays the fool, but he’s actually a serious and intelligent player who makes every move in a calculated way. Much props to him for giving his grade-A number 1 hump to Ms. Tilly.
