Doyle’s Room on Krank
Published by Textbook 2 years, 3 months ago in Online PokerI decided to spend a little more time on Doyle’s Room today, since I had the money there and all.
First I hit a $5+0.50 9-seat “extended” sit-n-go. I’m not sure what “extended” means, but since the other options appear to be “speed” or “turbo”, I figure it must mean “pretty close to normal pace”. I washed out at fifth place after spending most of the tourney in the top three. Oh, well, the fun was just about to begin…
Next I signed onto a “turbo” tourney. Those things are insane! The blinds go up every minute — with nine players at the table one minute might be no more than ONE HAND!! Needless to say, it rapidly devolves into an all-in-athon. At one point, I went all-in with K K and two other players followed me in. The player with the short stack showed junk but the chip leader flipped… the other kings! We assumed we’d be playing with one less at the table, but the board brought something like 7 7 7 A A and our kings didn’t play. Unreal!
There had to be at least a handful of chopped pots in the tourney, but that one took the cake for sure.
As entertaining as it was, I don’t think I recommend Doyle’s “turbo” tourneys. They CRAZY!
One other thing about Doyle’s Room that I feel I should warn you all about: At the begining of tourneys they play a voice recording of Doyle Brunson welcoming you and calling “Shuffle up and deal!” It scares the living crap out of me almost every time.
Oh, yeah… I won the “turbo” tourney, btw.
